Dolly

About Dolly

Dolly is a non-profit organization centered on pet knowledge, care, and training.

Dolly says many pet issues could be avoided by education in responsible pet ownership.

Good choices make good pets, and happy owners. Many animals are surrendered every year, because they did not fit the owners lifestyle. Pet owners often become frustrated when they encounter behaviors that they are unable to correct.

An improper correction can actually worsen the problem, or have an unpleasant side effect. It is important to be well informed and prepared before you get the pet.

Kind News

KIND News (Kids in Nature's Defense) is a colorful, four-page classroom newspaper, available in several age-appropriate editions, that addresses National Education Standards and incorporates lessons in all major subject areas.

Each monthly issue features articles, puzzles, projects, celebrity interviews, and other activities that make learning fun.

The subscription also includes KIND Teacher--a book of worksheets, posters, calendars, and teaching tips--as well as access to online lesson plans.

In addition to helping students master skills in language arts, math, and other subject areas, KIND News addressess schools' renewed focus on character education, making it an especially valuable resource to teachers.

It encourages good character development by emphasizing humane and character concepts such as respect, kindness to people and animals, responsibility, good citizenship, and peaceful conflict resolution.

A recent survey conducted by the Humane Society of the United States showed that nearly 85% of teachers think KIND News improves their student's treatment of one another.

Kind News

Through our Adopt-a-Classroom program, individuals, civic groups, and businesses can provide K-6 schoolchildren with gift subscriptions to KIND News, an award-winning newspaper published by the National Association for Humane and Environmental Education.

A subscription includes 28 copies of KIND News, one for each child in the class, plus a teacher's guide each month from September through May. Teachers also receive A KIND Teacher resource book, which includes reproducible work sheets, classroom poster, a calendar of fun facts and tips on helping people, animals and the environment.  Help us bring this quality education to the children in our community. Twenty-five dollars provides Kind News to a classroom for the whole school year.
